Cognitive disorder (Dementia) is a syndrome characterised by persistent deterioration in multiple cognitive functions (such as memory, thinking, language, and judgment) due to brain diseases or injuries, severe enough to disrupt daily life. It encompasses several types, with Alzheimer's disease being the most common. Although most forms are irreversible, active treatment and care are crucial for maintaining patients' quality of life and alleviating caregivers' burdens. If you or a loved one exhibits suspected symptoms, seek prompt medical evaluation to identify the cause and receive proper assessment and support.

On 4 July, Dr. Lau Ka-Hin, a specialist in psychiatry, provided an in-depth analysis of the causes and types of dementia, sharing practical knowledge from a professional perspective. The event attracted over 100 alumni to attend in person, with all seats filled. The audience actively raised questions about dementia, and Dr. Lau addressed their questions accordingly.
