Pu’er tea is a renowned dark fermented tea traditionally from Yunnan in China. Like fine wine, its taste improves with each passing year, becoming more flavourful, rich and mellow. A hundred-year-old Pu’er tea cake can sell at auction for more than HK$2 million per piece. Thus, they not only make a high-quality beverage, but are also valuable collector’s items. That’s why Pu’er is often referred to as "a drinkable antique". But what are the differences between exclusive Pu’er teas and those we usually consume at yum cha or in a Chinese restaurant?

Dr Kwong Tsz Man, a tea expert and Head of College of Humanities and Law, will discuss the origin and history of Pu’er tea and explore the legend of this magnificent tea with you on May 20.
